U.S. Defense Secretary Announces 20% Reduction in Number of Generals in the Military

Al-Taj News – U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Wednesday a 20% reduction in the number of generals and admirals in the military, in a move he said was aimed at “strengthening accountability.”

Hegseth said before military personnel at Quantico: “Numbers experts say we have dismissed 10 percent of the generals and admirals across the various branches of the armed forces.”

He added, “We have also reduced the total number of positions allocated to officers of general rank by an additional 10%,” explaining that the overall percentage had reached 20%.
